I will create a new work from the existing series 'Utopia'. This series of works was inspired by 'Utopia', a world that does not exist in reality, as described by the thinker Thomas More in his book. The work expresses a place free from the restrictions of climate and gravity, by coexisting landscapes, plants and creatures from different climates and combining the beauty of conflicting seasons. The new work depicts the world itself in a cycle of birth and rebirth. In this new work, I would like to incorporate symbolic places and architecture in Tainan (or Taiwan), as well as any symbols in the culture that could be used to represent birth and rebirth.
I would like to ask residents of Tainan who understand the story I have set up and my work and production style to take photos of Tainan, following my explanation in advance. We will also ask for information about the photographed subject and combine it with photographs of Hokkaido to create a new work.
We would appreciate it if you could provide us with several dozen photographs, since it is difficult to judge whether or not the photographs can be used in the work without seeing them.
I would like to receive photographs of a landscape with typical "Tainan architecture", brightly colored flowers, trees, and other plants, and if possible, animals.

The final exhibition of Absolute Space 2022 is curated by MARI HOMMA(本間真理), an independent curator from Hokkaido, Japan. "Through the Eyes of Hokkaido Artists", in which four Hokkaido artists, ERIKA KUSUMI (クスミエリカ), LEO FUJISAWA (藤沢レオ), RIE KAWAKAMI (川上りえ) and YUKA KASAI (葛西由香) , are invited to Absolute Space. The curator, MARI, hopes to express the uniqueness of Hokkaido artists and the connection between Hokkaido and Tainan through online exchange and research creation curation.
