The content of this exchange is divided into three parts as follows: social case investigation, artistic space contact and exhibition, to illustrate this exchange activity respectively:
1. Social case investigation
One of the highlights of this visit is the case of "art intervening in society" invested by Lostgens' in recent years. Under the leadership of Yang Liangxing, I personally visited the cases of his implementation in recent years. The first case is the 2018 "Historical Alley Plan" derived from his struggle with the authorities, and the 2018 case of "Valley of Hope Story Pavilion of Shuangxi Maoluohan Hospital Community". The second category is memorial cases of historical value, including "Chen's Academy Exhibition Hall" in 2012 and "Lin Lianyu Memorial Hall" in 2013. Yang Liangxing also think that relative festival or pure art activities, community work is oriented and more complex, will face is more than just a neighborhood, many community basically snake miscellaneous mix, hall, gangs, political parties, in which how to remain neutral and can be called the art of the plan, work become curators of important lessons. In addition, community management focuses on the inheritance and search for cultural stories and historical traces, including collecting more unofficial but meaningful folk historical materials, because the part that fills the historical gap is very important; However, it is not enough to rely on a small number of people. If more organizations can be combined to root for the community, and the old neighborhood can have more understanding of its own cultural background through educational promotion, then the concept of cultural cognition and preservation will gradually take root.
2. Artistic space contact
In addition to this visit plan Lostgens' in recent years, the art of executive involved in the case of social TaZha, also hope to contact with more art organizations in Malaysia, to seek the possibility of future closer cooperation, and have visited the Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Penang, main choice is an object with independent space and public sectors, such as: Lostgens' Contemporary Art Space, HOM Art Trans, Rumah Attap Library & Collective, 84, National Art Gallery... And so on. Most of the members of these units are young, full of ideals for the future of Malaysia, actively engaged in the work of historical preservation and cultural construction, and attach importance to the discussion of social issues. They also practice in workshops, publications and other methods to make their voices heard in the society.
3. Exhibition "Underflow - The Historical and Cultural Connection between Malaysia and Taiwan"
The exchanges of the preparation period, under the invitation of Yang, head of the two, the absolute skill force by colonel Xu Yuanda plotting "Underflow - The Historical and Cultural Connection between Malaysia and Taiwan" exhibition, to the point of view of history study, both visible and invisible origin, from the south island culture, Chinese immigrant culture, the great maritime era in the 17th century and modern Japanese colonial history, under the globalization context, such as the suffering of southeast Asia, selected the artist of southern Taiwan including Fang Weiwen, Lin Huangdi, Lin Shukai, Shield Darif, Wu Qi-zheng, Michelle Chen, Huang Yimin, Huang Zhi-wei, CAI Zongyou and Xie Hong-ming ect., were exhibited and a forum was held to exchange ideas, especially the in-depth discussion on national identity and the search for historical fragments.
