Habitual Action; Solo exhibition by Fang Wei-Wen

We find our words in disorder from time to time. Often, we start making a remark, only to find that we have to choose either to go on talking nonsense or to stop right there. Surely we could keep silence and let it sink 30,000 feet into the darkest sea. All efforts may end up useless, but the sentences still need to be completed. The contrast between “saying it” and “not saying it” seems to just offer sort of incompleted options . Nevertheless, what remains stupid but important is the beginning of it. In brief, my theme derives mainly from the exploration and experience of “myself” and “the outside world,” where there is no clear distinction between them. Techniques and materials are the subject and object to each other, the equation going reversible. Most of the Works in this exhibition can be divided into two major types –the standard-size canvas and paper.
