Comfort Land- Chung Lun Chiang Solo Exhibition

【Statement】

I used to bunk with my younger brother when we were little. I remembered it was a dark brown wooden bunk bed. Sometimes before we slept, we would have role-playing games and the bed was sure to be the prop for various scenarios, like the spaceship flying to the universe or the last fortress guarded desperately by knights.

That was the way I got along with him. Those were not only joyful days, but also my first time to inspire my imagination.

Comfort land refers to the place where I store memories. I will use memories I share with my family as the material, blend it with real-life situations, make up a script based on them and reenact it. During the exhibition I will invite my brother (Chiang Chung-da) to act and film together. The bunk bed installed at the scene will again become the boat taking us to the sea; and my memory, will become a brand new coordinate for me to set out again from my comfort daily life.
