【Exhibition Statement】 The theme of this exhibition is “evolutionary sequence” which explores not only the overloading and escaping state of the entity, but also probes the entity’s transformation into another state due to the external factors or the intervention of force or energy. I use videos, installations, paintings and the other media to arrange the entities one by one according to our habitual way of seeing and enable the interface to convert and modify the entities. In this sense, since these entities exist in the daily routine without the intervention of external forces, the relationship between the entities can be seen as a type of “sequence”. The viewer will see two projection screens while entering into the exhibition venue. Since the two different videos are played on the two screens and these two screens also block most of the exhibition space, the viewer will see the two screens as a prologue of the exhibition and expect more works evolving after viewing this exhibition. Coming to the middle and the back part of the exhibition, the viewer will see the sculptures and models made based on the unidentified entities as well as the images projected on the screens changing slowly. The visual familiarity of the images not only evokes the viewer’s feeling of connecting with the two videos shown earlier but also resonates to the entire exhibition which come up with a question: “since the consequences are produced by calculation and the unconventional changes are produced during the interaction between the viewing and the entities, system and system and ecology and ecology, I would like to pose the question that if we can adopt a more organic and creative aesthetic practice to think and view in terms of the artistic language. The massive architecture models and the power device without the cover exposing the device’s inner structure are in the final part of the exhibition which are also shown on the two screens in the first part of the exhibition. This exposure and revelation of the models and device wants to trigger the viewer’s psychological and physical reactions in association with the first part of the exhibition in order to lead the viewer to have the feeling of “No Wonder” rather than “Of Course”. The images translated through the interface and the references used by architecture in the exhibition are no longer simply understood by the traditional and linear way through the printed paper. My method may be more non-linear and more organic, but this method is closer to a contemporary approach. Those entities are re-created by perceptions, archives and symbols. In addition to the abstract meanings represented by cartography, people use their bodies to wander, watch and interface with different media in the real space. This process can explain the interaction between the local space and people as well as represent the possibilities and variations of the relationship between the human and the world. The use of google street view service is a unique way of viewing in respect of the contemporary technological development. The user can be as close as possible to the reality and the reality can be restored as much as possible. The viewer can experience personally on the scene although the viewer does not need to be on the scene physically or even be present in advance without the physical presence. Because of the accidents and mistakes occur during the production and calculation, such media produce images that are different from those in the real world, so that the viewer can realize the difference between the simulated reality and the medium. Consequently, the viewer returns to the painting interface, brushstrokes, the stacked reality, painting strokes and the lights and shadows, which results in a unique viewing of Google Street View. I also intend to highlight the contradictions occurring during the viewing. I cannot return back the stimulated reality, but I can re-create the ambiguous imaginary space in the positioning system, street view service and the process of drawing and mapping. As the medium can be seen an extension of the body, the interfacing process replaces the reality of the body, making a more turbulent back and forth for the body, the mind and the viewing. If the medium is always seen as political and purposeful, what are the multiple identities, transformations, and combinations between the "medium" and "sequence" in terms of contemporary art? Therefore, this exhibition would like to invite the viewer to think as follows: “The medium is neither an absolutely objective nor a harmless interface since the medium is often seen as a communication tool conveying meanings. The medium itself not only has certain values and stances, but also embodies power relationship. Since the interpretation comes into being, then how can we view this medium in a way that is not restrained or limited by the consequence produced by induction and calculation.
