｜Super construction 001 — Pipe Mania｜

The exhibition “Super construction 001— Pipe Mania” comes from my childhood

experience of looking out at the ocean on the beach. To get to the beach, it takes a venture through a dike full of plastic pipes. When we gaze at the ocean, we were also able to hear water moving in the pipe alongside the revving motor. The presence of noise did not disturb our passion for ocean-watching in the slightest. However, when our consciousness recognized the presence of the noise, the invisible relationship between energy, power, and rights began to surface one after another.

These pipes are wastes from the aquaculture and fishery at the south-western shore of Taiwan. As the pipe preference varies for each different business, there are pipes with various scales of caliber, length, and thickness. By reusing these pipe wastes, I made a connected loop, and coded the action challenge of this exhibition “Super construction 001.”

【About Cheng-Chun Chang】

Chang Cheng Chun, born in Kaohsiung in 1996, is currently studying at the Institute of Plastic Arts, Tainan University of the Arts, and currently lives in Tainan. By touching the boundaries between system and laws, the adjustment and transformation of objects, his artworks discusses a variety of environmental issues, including the distribution of resources, the delineation of boundaries, and people's rights.
